Craft Your Own Cardboard Chalkboard Letters

I have been wanting to spell the word "EAT" in my dining room\kitchen area for as long as I can remember because well, I think it's really rad. I have seen this idea done by other people, but I knew I could add my own spin to this craft to make it my own.
After I found my letters I then had to decide how to decorate them. Do I wrap them in yarn or fabric or spray paint them a bold color...
Oh the wonderful choices.
I had also been coincidentally thinking about painting one of my walls in the dining room with chalkboard paint.

Side note : To know me in real life is to realize that at any one time I have 100 projects "brewing" in my head, I'm crazy.

Sooo I decided to merge these two ideas into one project and paint my letters with chalkboard paint, it's like the best of both worlds.

You will need:
> Chalkboard paint
> Paint brush spongy thing
> Big ol' letters (you can cut your letters from boxes or buy them online)
> White chalk

1. Apply your first coat of paint to your letters.

2. Apply a second coat of paint, blah I know, but necessary.

3. Rub a piece of chalk all over the letters.

4. Then use a paper towel or napkin to rub in the chalk. This gives the letters their "chalkboard" feel.

5. Decoate your letter chalkboards with art, quotes, designs or maybe your favoite food recipe, make them your own!

You can use poster putty, tape or sticky dots to hang your letters up on the wall. Then you can sit back with a cuppa joe and enjoy your crafty work.

Happy crafting.
