The Joyful Life Library Fundraiser and Giveaway!

Are you ready for a birthday fundraiser and giveaway? I am so stinking excited to be bringing you awesome sponsors and a great giveaway all for the love of kids and children's books. Did you know I used to be an elementary school teacher? I have a passion for reading and the ability reading has to bring parents and children together.

I have been following Heathers blog Life Made Lovely for ever, and she has a wonderful project to put books into children's hospitals all over the country. Here is a little more about the project in her own words:

"We feel strongly that reading a favorite story to a child is an act of love that's comforting to the child and the caregiver alike, and is especially important when your life has been turned upside down because of a little one's critical illness.  As a parent of a hospitalized child, you often feel helpless because there is so little comfort and care you can offer.  Being able to sit and read a book, just like you would do at home, helps to make the entire family feel a little bit better.  Because of this we have set out to put books in as many PICU's as we possible can."

I have chosen to have the books sent to CHOC Children's Hospital in Orange, California, which is very close to where I live. I know several people who have been seen there as kids and have taken their own children for various procedures. It is a wonderful place where children go for life saving procedures.

I was so moved by Heathers passion I knew I had to get involved! So how will this work? I have created a wishlist at Amazon.com via Barnes and Noble. This is how I will keep track of who buys what books. I have included the shipping info for CHOC Hospital so it's SUPER easy to complete the transaction!
